UNMATCHED RECORDINGS

Match them before the clock reaches them.

The MLC matches each store’s copy of a recording on its own. One ISRC can be paid on four stores and sit unmatched on eight, and the portal calls the work “matched.” We find every unmatched copy, store by store, and write the file that matches it.

WHAT WE FIND

Every unmatched copy, with the work it belongs on

Every copy, by store

The MLC holds unmatched usage against an ISRC with no work attached. We list every copy, the store it came from, and the usage behind it.

The bulk-match file, written

One row per recording, the ISRC and your song code, in the exact format the MLC’s matching desk takes. Your team approves; we send it and read the answer file back.

Oldest usage first

The list sorts by how far back the usage goes, so the months closest to the 2027 distribution are matched first.

THE CLOCK

Unmatched money doesn’t wait forever

The MLC holds unmatched royalties for at least three years. From early 2027 it pays them out to everyone by market share, one month at a time, beginning with January 2021. Once a month is paid out that way, your share of it is gone.

Questions

What about a recording matched to the wrong work?

That’s a different filing, a support ticket, and a different page: Duplicates and conflicts.

What if the song has no registration?

Then nothing can be matched to it yet. We build the registration in the MLC’s own template with the recordings on it, then match the usage once the song code exists.

Do you need our MLC login?

Not for the audit. To file, you add us as a team member on your MLC account.
